When you hire Leanne, you get not only her years of experience with the law, but also a lot of years of working experience and common sense. She’s been a sales person, a graphic artist, a broadcaster, a board member, a barrel racer, a litigator and a general counsel. She has her own steel-toed boots and hard hat. She’s worked in backrooms, boardrooms, classrooms and courtrooms. She cut her lawyer teeth first on Bay Street, and she continues to sharpen them in Toronto’s beautiful Beach ‘hood.
Leanne’s not particularly comfortable talking about herself, but she does have a few bragging rights. In 2018 she’ll celebrate her 25th anniversary of having graduated from University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy Law Schools. She has completed two challenging executive ed courses at Harvard’s Program on Negotiation. Leanne is a Construction Contract Administrator, a new Mediator and a member of the ADR Institutes of BC and Ontario.
Leanne maintains a general litigation and counsel practice in all of Canada’s common law provinces acting for elevator companies, insurers, multinationals, construction parties, small businesses, building owners and operators, employers & employees and telecom, tech and transportation entities. She’s done (and won) trials in the Ontario Superior Court, negotiated and drafted contracts, and resolved many cases at mediation.
Resigned to the fact that work-life balance is an urban myth, Leanne will work harder than anyone else to get a job done and a case resolved. She is a Leo, a Type A caffeine addict, a craft beer consumer, a person who can survive on little sleep and a lover of all things orange and VW Beetle.
